  • Exits rehab game after HBP
Crawford (oblique) was removed from his rehab game at Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday after getting hit in the hand by a pitch.

Advice: Crawford was visibly in pain after taking a 90-mph fastball off his right hand/wrist and was immediately taken out of the game by a trainer. He has been working his way back from a right oblique strain he suffered in late April, and Wednesday was expected to be his final appearance in the minors before rejoining the Mariners for their weekend series in Baltimore. However, the 29-year-old shortstop's return may be postponed if the damage to his hand proves to be significant. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
  • Jeremy Peña collects two hits in win over Athletics
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 3-0 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Peña led off the fourth inning with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mauricio Dubón. He later started the sixth inning with a single, but was stranded on the bases. The multi-hit day brings Peña slash line to an impressive .333/.375/.455 with four homers, 26 runs scored, 16 RBI, and six steals across 176 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 7:23 pm
  • Bobby Witt Jr. plates both runs in loss to Mariners
Bobby Witt Jr. went 0-for-3 and drove in both of the Royals’ runs in Wednesday afternoon’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: The 23-year-old superstar finally got the Royals on the board with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, pulling them to within a run at 2-1. He also plated a run with a ground ball in the eighth inning. On the season, he’s now slashing .293/.359/.500 with five homers, 23 RBI and 15 stolen bases. Rotoworld Today, 4:50 pm
  • Riding pine Wednesday
Rocchio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Gabriel Arias will take over at shortstop while Rocchio sits out the series finale. Rocchio lifted his batting average up to .208 after going 2-for-9 at the plate while he started each of the past three games. Rotowire.com Today, 1:59 pm
  • Goes through agility drills
Turner (hamstring) went through agility drills and fielded grounders at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Turner is less than two weeks removed from suffering a left hamstring strain, so it would seem to be a positive development that he's already working out on the field. Phillies manager Rob Thomson insisted Wednesday that "there is no timeline" for Turner's return, but it's possible the shortstop has a shot to beat the initial six-week recovery timetable he was projected for upon being placed on the 10-day injured list May 4. • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of lineup
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the Cubs’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s ballgame against the Braves.

Advice: The 27-year-old infielder was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to tightness in his left hamstring, and he’ll get an additional day off on Wednesday to rest as well. Miles Mastrobuoni will start in his place at shortstop and bat sixth for the Cubs against Charlie Morton and the Braves on Wednesday evening in Atlanta. Rotoworld Today, 1:35 pm
  • Retreating to bench
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario will head to the bench after he had started in each of the previous four games while seeing time at three different spots in the infield (second base, third base and shortstop). Though the right-handed-hitting Rosario should remain a mainstay in the lineup versus lefties, his opportunities to play against right-handed pitching could be more limited moving forward after the Rays activated the lefty-hitting Jonathan Aranda from the injured list Tuesday. • Maikel Garcia getting a night off on Wednesday
Maikel Garcia is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s matchup against the Mariners.

Advice: The 24-year-old infielder has been scuffling a bit at the plate as of late, so perhaps a day off to clear his head will do him some good. On the season, he’s slashing .239/.288/.369 with four homers, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases through his first 43 games. Adam Frazier will start at the hot corner and hit leadoff against Bryan Woo and the Mariners on Wednesday night in Seattle. Rotoworld Today, 1:00 pm
  • Transferred to 60-day IL
The Athletics transferred Hernaiz (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Advice: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Aaron Brooks, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Astros. Hernaiz suffered a severe left ankle sprain last week and now won't be eligible to return until early July. Max Schuemann has since taken over as Oakland's everyday shortstop in his stead.
